The early leader who started out of the gate on fire, GM Marie Sebag, finished in 5th place overall. GM Alexandra Kosteniuk, 12th Women's World Chess Championship, mounted a steady battle to move ooooh so close to the top 10! You keep battling! IM Melia Salome of Georgia, another personal favorite, moved up to 15th place from way down at the middle of the tournament. I felt several of these players just ran out of time to mount their best come-backs!
