"Despite the documented evidence of chess historian H.J.R. Murray, I have always thought that chess was invented by a goddess."

Celebrate National Chess Day With 9Queens!
Please come out and support 9Queens, a great organization doing wonderful work!
There may have been time constraints on the use of Bookman's premises. That's just a guess; the volunteers who staff such events for 9Queens, including Jean Hoffman, may have been limited in their available time, too. Don't know. I'm just happy to see this kind of outreach taking place. Chess can help people, young and older, in so many ways. We need more 9Queens, Jean Hoffmans, Jen Shahades, Susan Polgars, Alexandra Kosteniuks, Elizabeth Vicarys, and all the other wonderful chess femmes who donate their precious time and resources to promoting chess for kids and adults, but particularly for the ladies. Vive la femmes d'echecs!
Only two hours? That's an awfully short amount of time for an event of such potential.
