hi--i just came across your blog looking at your post about karl ratzsch's for christmas. i too work in the legal field a few blocks from ratzsch's. i don't recognize your face from your profile pic, but it is interesting to know that you have such an accomplished, detailed blog and we are practically neighbors! i don't play chess, but my husband does and will often play famous gambits/games by himself to try to learn from them. he has also tried to teach the kids about chess, but in today's day of video games, they find games like madden 2013 much more appealing, alas.
ReplyDeleteanyhow, my best to you and yours. thanks for your blog. such an interesting world we live in!
OMG--reposting b/c i just realized that you are Jan Newton! I am Kathy Alexander (paralegal from Michael Best). Anyhow, you don't have to post my comments, but feel free to contact me at my personal email address (inmygardengmail.com)

LOL! Shhhhush! Keep it to yourself. Very few people I work with now or have worked with in the past have any inkling of what it is I actually do with my time when I'm not at the office. They jut accept be as being the strange creature I've always been. Mention chess and people's eyes start to roll back in their heads...
