Photoshopping Run Amok!

These photographs are hilariously horrifying!  Talk about distorted images of women, YECH!

If you want to sell product, is it really necessary to feature Julia Roberts with a plastic babydoll face?  She's 44 years old now, she has some facial lines, for Goddess' sake!  And is it really necessary to depict Christy Turlington with what looks like, for all intents and purposes, actual plastic skin stretched out toward the edge of the frame?  OHMYGODDESS!  LOL!  I wouldn't touch either of these products with a ten-foot ankh!  Way too freaky for me - like Stepford Wives!

Went on Google News this morning and noticed that the top search phrase 'In the News' right now is 'Julia Roberts' - it's this story.

The reason why these ads have been banned is quite simply that the advertising is misleading, untrue.

If the good lady really uses the product, then customers should see what the results of the product really are - a close-up of her skin, as it actually is.

Hi Robur d'Amour, totally agree with you! Deceptive, misleading, and ridiculous! How could either one of these women have NO lines on either side of their mouth, for instance, simply from the act of smiling? Babies have lines when they smile! It's probable that neither woman uses the product she is being used to tout, either. That, in and of itself, is misleading; but the use of these cartoon images in place of the real women -- it's just plain disgusting. I'm glad England has laws against this sort of thing and that people are beginning to call out the cosmetics industry for their lies and garbage! I hope there is a lot more publicity on this sort of phoniness in the future.

I thought the most telling point in the first article posted is that Julia Roberts has an actual CLAUSE in her contract that PROHIBITS release of her undoctored images!
